Script - Are YOU represented in TV drama ? Is your gender represented in TV drama? How about your ethnicity? Is your age or even your sexuality represented in TV drama? If yes ,then are you represented correctly?
Narcos:
Narcos is an American crime drama web television series created and produced by Chris Brancato, Carlo Bernard, and Doug Miro.Set and filmed in Colombia, seasons one and two are based on the story of drug kingpin Pablo Escobar, who became a billionaire through the production and distribution of cocaine, while also focusing on Escobar's interactions with drug lords, Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) agents, and various opposition entities. Season three picks up after the fall of Escobar and continues to follow the DEA as they go up against the rise of the infamous Cali Cartel.
Narcos represents variety of different ethnicity and age. I personally do not agree that Pablo Escobar makes young children and teenagers work for him, gives them weapons and tells them to do all sorts of things such as: radio in when the police are leaving the station, when the police are nearby the drug lord's area or when they are searching houses. Escobar thinks by giving money back to the community and helping them out he is going to earn their respect, which he did however it does not give him the right to use children to do his dirty work.
Nowadays mostly Tv shows, films, games and advertisements have something to represent. They all carry a certain message or meaning; Narcos particularly has a message of how bad people such as drug dealers and corrupted police die in a very horrific way and that Colombia is a country flooded with drugs, because of the corrupt police and government it is very hard to solve this problem.
